the pattern was consistent: Trocador found a better rate 18 out of 20 times. the two times it did not, the difference was under 0.1%.

privacy score
Trocador itself is privacy-friendly. no account, no email, no KYC. the site is open source. they have a clear privacy policy that says they do not log swap details.
however, when you click through to the actual exchange, that exchange may have its own privacy practices. SimpleSwap logs your IP. ChangeNOW has stricter KYC triggers. TradeOgre is more privacy-friendly.

the UI
honestly, the UI looks like it was built in 2018. functional, not pretty. the homepage has a swap calculator, you pick your pair, and it shows you a ranked list of exchanges with rates.
no dark mode. no animations. no mobile app. it works, and for a tool that saves you money on every swap, that is enough.
when to use Trocador vs going direct
use Trocador when:
- you want the best rate without checking five exchanges manually
- you are doing large swaps where even 0.1% matters
- you want to see all your options in one place
- you are swapping obscure pairs where rates vary wildly
use SimpleSwap or ChangeNOW direct when:
- you swap the same pair every time and have a favorite
- you are under $500 and the rate difference is negligible
- you want a cleaner UI
- you are using their loyalty program (SimpleSwap has cashback)
the catch
Trocador depends on third-party exchanges. if the exchange you pick goes down mid-swap, Trocador cannot help you. the support is from the exchange, not Trocador.
also, not all exchanges are available in all regions. some US users reported that certain exchanges on Trocador block US IPs. you may need a VPN.
bottom line
Trocador is the best-kept secret in no-KYC crypto. it is not an exchange, it is a comparison engine that saves you money on every swap. the privacy is solid, the rates are consistently better, and the only downside is a dated UI and reliance on third-party exchanges.
